Jeff Pickford Elected as Director of ISNSW

At Terania Consulting, we talk a lot about impact - how the work we do shapes communities, supports the next generation, and strengthens the profession as a whole. So when our Principal Registered Surveyor, Jeff Pickford, was recently elected as a Director of the Institution of Surveyors NSW (ISNSW), it felt like a perfect reflection of the values we aim to bring to our work every day.

More than just a professional milestone, Jeff’s appointment recognises his deep commitment to the surveying profession, both in technical excellence and in helping shape its future. As a Registered Surveyor in both New South Wales and Queensland, and with a Bachelor of Spatial Science (Surveying) under his belt, Jeff brings decades of practical experience, strong leadership, and a grounded understanding of regional challenges to the table.

His election to the ISNSW Board means that voices from the Northern Rivers, a region with its own set of unique environmental, infrastructure, and industry dynamics, will now be part of critical state wide conversations. That representation matters. It ensures that decisions made at the top consider not just the urban centres, but the growing needs and opportunities of regional communities.

ISNSW plays a vital role in the professional landscape of surveying. As one of the key industry bodies in Australia, it advocates for the profession, supports education and training, and helps uphold the high standards expected of surveyors. With Jeff stepping into a leadership position, we’re excited to see how he will help drive these priorities forward, particularly around innovation, sustainability, and skills development.

What makes this even more meaningful is that Jeff doesn’t just bring experience, he brings perspective. He understands the day-to-day realities of being on-site, managing teams, and delivering projects across a diverse range of settings. His contributions at ISNSW will no doubt reflect the same qualities he brings to Terania every day - thoughtful communication, practical problem-solving, and a genuine passion for mentoring others.

For us as a company, this is a proud moment. We’ve always believed that the best way to grow a healthy industry is to invest in it. That includes supporting people like Jeff who go beyond their job titles to make a broader impact. His appointment not only strengthens Terania’s ties within the profession but also helps amplify the role of regional surveyors in shaping policy, practice, and future standards.

We’re looking forward to watching Jeff thrive in this new role, and to the ripple effects it will create for our team, our clients, and the wider industry. It’s a reminder that leadership doesn’t always mean stepping away from the work; it can mean bringing your experience into new spaces where it has the power to influence, guide, and inspire.

Congratulations again, Jeff. The profession is lucky to have you at the table - and we’re lucky to have you on our team.
